Good UX removes friction. But Inclusive Design removes systemic friction—barriers that exclude people based on age, disability, gender, race, sexual orientation, culture, age, income, or tech access. When we fix access and inclusion blockers, we improve the experience for everyone. This means taking a different approach to product and service design. It means deliberately including so we don’t unintentionally exclude.
The problem: Teams often design for users like themselves. Bias and exclusion, stereotype and unintended harm are our kryptonite (the only thing that could stopped Superman in the film series).
The solution: Inclusive design brings in new voices, which surface different pain points, reveal edge cases, and challenge defaults. That feedback sharpens the product and future-proofs it.
